DoD Pet Transportation Allowance Breakdown
CONUS (Continental United States) Moves
- Eligible service members may be reimbursed for up to $550 in pet transportation expenses.
- Coverage applies to the transportation of one household pet, such as a dog or cat, during a PCS move within the continental United States.
OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) Moves
- Eligible service members may be reimbursed for up to $2,000 for pet transportation expenses associated with overseas PCS assignments.
- Reimbursement may also help cover mandatory quarantine fees required by the destination country.
Eligibility Requirements
Military personnel conducting an authorized PCS move may be eligible to claim the pet transportation allowance through their travel voucher submission process. Reimbursement eligibility and documentation requirements are subject to current Department of Defense regulations.
